Texmaker dictionary

To use the Texmaker spellcheck function, installing the OpenOffice or LibreOffice .dic dictionary into /usr/share/myspell/dicts/ is not enough. One also needs to install the package dictionary-common from the repository:

sudo apt-get install dictionaries-common

A much faster way is to just install myspell-en-us (or your favorite language):

sudo apt-get install myspell-en-us

This will install all the necessary dependencies for you. To search for the names of the available dictionaries, do:

sudo apt-cache search myspell
